Tips to improve your weekend lifestyle struggles.

Weekends are challenging for most people and Trainers often get people telling us they struggle mostly during the weekend with food and exercise. I thought it would be appropriate for this post as Bars/Restaurants have been opening up before Gyms and Fitness centres around Victoria, making the this issue harder to deal with.

Heres 4 tips to help:

1. Alter your perception.. Try to stop thinking that the weekend is different to weekdays. Weekends are often seen as off days from work so naturally the thoughts of health and fitness follow. Weekends have the same 24 hours as any other day of the week.

2. Plan ahead.. Try to meal plan for the weekend as you would for you daily work routine.

3. Socialise around activities, not food.. All though its in most cultures to socialise around food and drink, try something different. Go out and have fun doing things like hiking, wakeboarding, bowling, surfing, riding, ect. Options are endless.

4. Avoid temptation.. Deliberately avoid temptations. When you’re out of routine, it’s tempting to get easy accessible options. Also avoid free tv, companies purposely put ads of food up during peak meal times. I know I would.

Stay vigilant if you want to achieve goals. Its ok to have fun and relax, but don’t let it stop you from being better. Lets hope Gyms open soon!
