Tips for Beginners.
❤️Gyms are reopening! To some like myself, this is a big deal.
Now it’s important to note if you have trained only a little or if at all in the past 3-6 months. You’ll want to consider going back to basics.
Here are some pointers for those returning or if you’re just beginning.
1️⃣ Don’t worry about what others are thinking!
2️⃣ Start with 1-3 days a week of full body workouts.
3️⃣ Prioritise big compound movements.
4️⃣ Set a performance goal.
5️⃣ Stick to medium/high reps for the first 6 weeks.
6️⃣ Keep a training diary.
7️⃣ Find a support Group.
✨Walking into a gym can be intimidating, but with these few pointers, it’ll help you build confidence.
✨Don’t worry about what others are thinking, everyone was a beginner at some point and chances are they are worried about the same thing you are. That or they are too focused on themselves.
✨Start with full body workouts.
This will help you build on fundamental movements and technique.
Recruiting experience and build habits.
✨ Workouts should be built around compound movements and variations, eg squats, bench press, deadlifts and Chin-ups. Variations of these main movements are what I call accessories. Accessory exercises help build on making these main movements stronger.
✨ Keep a diary so you can keep track and prevent you from guessing what weights and sets you’re capable of doing each week.
✨ Find a support group.
Something as simple as having a gym partner, PT, or joining a group session can help you keep accountable and motivated.
✨MOST IMPORTANT!!!
Have fun!!! Training is to be enjoyed and feel awesome seeing the progress no mater how small.
Excited to see you all 😁
